About & Contact
An owner-operated retreat and event venue, built around a simple idea: that genuine quiet, real nature, and clean energy don't have to mean roughing it.
The Story
Within a 90-minute drive of Edmonton — Canada's fifth-largest city — there was no single place that combined a real event hall, private cabin accommodation, and genuine off-grid sustainability. You could find one, occasionally two. Never all three on one property. Waypoint Acres is being built to fill exactly that gap.
The result is 200+ acres, 45 minutes west of Edmonton, with fourteen private net-zero cabins, a 350-seat event hall with production A/V, and a year-round outdoor activity park — all running on geothermal, solar, and biomass backup, with no propane and no diesel anywhere on site.
It is, deliberately, a screen-free and permanently dry venue. Those aren't limitations we apologize for — they're the reason the place feels the way it does, and the reason it works for the weddings, ceremonies, family stays, and corporate retreats we're built for.
What We Stand For
Net-zero performance by design, not by purchased credits. Geothermal heat, solar power, biomass backup, and a near-passive-house envelope. No fossil fuels burned on the property — ever.
No televisions in any cabin, and limited cell service across much of the land. The disconnection isn't a side effect — it's the whole point. Starlink is there for when you truly need it.
No alcohol, ever — not by default, not by exception. Specialty mocktails and curated non-alcoholic options at applicable events. It makes Waypoint Acres genuinely right for ceremonies, youth, and family gatherings.
Ground-level accessibility throughout the hall and trails, an all-terrain wheelchair in the gear inventory, and a team happy to plan around specific access needs ahead of any stay or event.
Owner-Operated
Waypoint Acres is owner-operated. The founder lives on the property full-time as operations manager — which means the person responsible for your stay or your event is the same person walking the trails, checking the systems, and answering the phone.
That hands-on model shapes everything: the flat, all-inclusive event rate; the direct-booking-first approach; and a standard of care that's hard to match at a property run from a distance. When you reach out, you're talking to the people who built it.
Getting Here
Waypoint Acres sits in Parkland County, roughly 45 minutes west of downtown Edmonton and within easy reach of Edmonton International Airport. Close enough for a weeknight corporate retreat or a weekend escape; far enough that the city, and its noise, genuinely fall away.
Detailed driving directions and an arrival guide will be shared with your booking confirmation ahead of our Spring 2028 opening.
